Policy on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies
We believe that large AI language models, such as ChatGPT, do not meet the criteria for authorship. Attribution of authorship implies responsibility for the work, which cannot be effectively applied to AI. The use of AI should be properly documented in the Methods section (or, if the Methods section is not available, in an appropriate alternative section) of the manuscript.
The use of AI for text editing does not require declaration. In this context, text editing is understood to mean the improvement of texts created by the author(s) using AI to improve the scientific style and readability, as well as to ensure that the texts do not contain grammatical, spelling, or punctuation errors.
Editing using AI may include changes to the wording and formatting of texts, but does not involve generative editorial work or autonomous content creation.
All participants in the editorial and publishing process are obliged to be guided by the principles of ethics and integrity in the use of AI, which are enshrined in the Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Academic Activities at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
